World renowned Taiwanese author Wu Ming-yi will be holding an exclusive event as part of the 2018 Edinburgh International Book Festival to discuss the themes of his Man Booker International long-listed book 'The Stolen Bicycle'
Following the reading of an excerpt from this novel, he will be joined in a Q&A session led by acclaimed author Mary Lynn Bracht.

One of the most central figures in Asian literature, Wu Ming-yi is regarded as one of the most important authors of his generation. He was awarded the Salon d’Ouessant’s International Island Literature Fiction Award in 2015 for 'The Man with the Compound Eyes' which also won the Prix du Livre Insulaire, and was awarded the Japanese Literary Translation Award for his work 'The Magician on the Skywalk.'
'The Stolen Bicycle' has received unanimous critical praise, with literary critic Bron Sibree calling the novel "a haunting homage to what its author calls, “the unrepeatability of life” and praises his ability to weave a narrative of Taiwan.
